A collection of artworks by Gerri Young
Watercolor
These works are primarily on watercolor paper of various weights. Some, like Bamboo Beauty, are watercolor batik on very thin rice paper. You can click on a thumbnail to see the full painting and use the side arrows to scroll through them easily. Watercolor is a media which provides great challenges, sophisticated results and wonderful surprises. It took a great deal of effort to grow from school girl looking art to where I am today. I learned a great deal from Monica Perin and Annie Taillemite in France and Robin Poteet in Roanoke at The Studio School. The first piece on the page earned me a place in the my first juried show with the Virginia Watercolor Society (VWS). In 2018, I was selected for my third VWS show and achieved Signature Status.
